 | How do I choose the right tools? |
|
After now just buying a house, I'm chomping at the bit to get into
woodworking. But how do I know a well made tool from a bad one? How
do I know how much tool to buy? Just looking at table saws, and I'm
floored at the variety. What will I need, and how do I know WHAT I
need if I've never gotten seriously into this hobby. I know there are
bashers and lovers of all different brands, and I'm familar in name
only of many, and experience with other brands such as Craftsman in
doing car repairs.
Now, I could understand if you reply "well, it depends on what you
want to build". I could accept that as an answer but I don't have any
benchmark as to what is needed in relation to what I want to build.
---------------------
You need to know the intent of your use. Your request is like asking for a
good mode of transportation. That could be anything from a space shuttle to
a lame goat.
Good advice in life as well as wood working. Figure out where you are,
where you are going and then how you are going to get there.
