| Used to live in a smaller community and there was this great weekly
gazette that listed auctions in the area. Wonderful source for old ww
machines. Now I live near DC and this place is so spread out... Small gazettes
just don't cover the area and the ones I've seen just don't do
auctions and such. Heck, I'm not sure they even have auctions of such
trivialities in the "Capital of the Free World". So, if I were in the market for, say, a 8" jointer by Delta (the DJ20)
or a 15" or planer, where should I direct my gaze to find folks trying
desperately to find good homes for theirs? Besides ebay?

-this site offers many industrial size, but also homeowner size. I bought my
INCA jointer for a home shop thru it. http://www.woodweb.com/ -Do a Google search online: www.google.com You may be able to find a used equipment dealer in your area. I typed
in "washington dc used woodworking machinery" and got a few sites of
interest. One site of interest that I have bookmarked is: http://www.woodquip.com Most hobbiest don't have 8" jointers and 15" planers. So your best bet
would be to seek out used woodworking machinery dealers. Despite being
dealers you can get relatively good prices. Sometimes you can beat the dealers to the punch by keeping your ears
to the ground and checking out government and manufacturing company
auctions. I got my drill press from a dealer who got it at an auction
for an aerospace company that was liquidating equipment.
